OurFather collects the minimum needed to run a gift-guide site: basic analytics, and an email address only if you give us one. Here's the whole picture.
What we collect
- Basic, aggregated analytics on which pages get visited — no individual profile is built from it.
- Name and email, only if you voluntarily submit them (for example, through a contact form or the merch waitlist).
- Which affiliate link you clicked, tracked by the retailer (Amazon, Awin-network merchants) after you leave this site — that tracking is run by them under their own privacy policy, not ours.
How affiliate links work
OurFather is a participant in the Amazon Associates program and other retailer affiliate programs (via the Awin network), designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by linking to those retailers' products. When you click an affiliate link and make a purchase, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. We don't see your payment information — that transaction happens entirely on the retailer's site, under their own privacy and security policies.
Who processes data on our behalf
We use a small set of processors to run the site: a hosting provider (Vercel), basic web analytics, and an email delivery provider if you submit a contact form. None of them are permitted to use your data for their own purposes.
What we don't do
We don't sell your information, and we don't run third-party ad-tracking pixels on this site beyond the affiliate link tracking described above.
Your choices
If you've given us your email and want it deleted, email admin@ourfather.ca and we'll confirm when it's done.
