OurFather collects the minimum needed to run a gift-guide site: basic analytics, and an email address only if you give us one. Here's the whole picture.
What we collect
- Basic, aggregated analytics on which pages get visited — no individual profile is built from it.
- Name and email, only if you voluntarily submit them (for example, through a contact form or the merch waitlist).
- Which affiliate link you clicked, tracked by the retailer (Awin network merchants, and the Canadian makers and retailers we link to directly) after you leave this site — that tracking is run by them under their own privacy policy, not ours.
How affiliate links work
OurFather earns commissions through affiliate partnerships with partner brands via the Awin network. Direct links to Canadian makers and retailers carry UTM tags (utm_source=ourfather.ca) so those businesses can see the visit came from this site; no personal data is passed. Links to Amazon are not used on this site.
Who processes data on our behalf
We use a small set of processors to run the site: a hosting provider (Vercel), basic web analytics, and an email delivery provider if you submit a contact form. None of them are permitted to use your data for their own purposes.
What we don't do
We don't sell your information, and we don't run third-party ad-tracking pixels on this site beyond the affiliate link tracking described above.
Your choices
If you've given us your email and want it deleted, email admin@ourfather.ca and we'll confirm when it's done.
