Why bother with merch at all
Not to sell you something you don't need. A dad hat or a mug isn't going to make you a better father. But wearing one is a small, low-stakes way to say you're part of something, the same reason men wear a team's colors or a company polo. Nothing here launches until it's actually made well and actually worth owning.
That means no rushed print-on-demand run just to have something to sell. The waitlist exists because we'd rather launch one well-made item to a hundred guys who actually want it than a rack of forgettable stuff to nobody in particular.
